Coaches/Managers (C/M) can set a fixed fee per game and allow Officials to self-assign or to apply to work the game (in the event that the C/M has chosen to pick the Officials from those that applied instead of self-assign). C/Ms can also list a max fee that they will pay per official and then allow for a reverse auction where officials can bid lower to try to win the assignment. The bottom line is that C/Ms are always completely in control of what they pay Officials.
